Our Vision

To be a fellowship where people hear Christ, find Christ and grow as his followers in fellowship with each other. To be a mission which reaches the whole of our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To this goal we are committed to prayer, to the teaching of God's Word, building relationships and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

The Church is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and of the Evangelical Alliance.

History and outlook

The Gospel Mission Hall was founded in 1931 to provide Barnoldswick with a clear Gospel witness. Its roots are in Methodism and there has always been a concentration on the holiness of the Christian and reliance on God to supply our needs. In 2007 a new constitution was adopted and the name of the church was changed to Barnoldswick Gospel Mission.

Today the Church seeks to be faithful to the Bible’s unchanging message while being contemporary in our approach to ministry.

We believe in keeping God’s Word central to our Church life and teaching it in a way that is relevant to everyday life. We believe Christ is the head of the Church and that he empowers us by his Holy Spirit. We believe he is concerned for all people. Just as all have sinned, all may be made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ God’s only Son.
